The reason why kids are so obese is because they are consuming unhealthy amounts of foods that contain too much sugar, fats, and oils. They are not eating nutritional foods such as, fruits, whole grains, and vegetables. People of this generation prefer to have everything quick and efficient, which includes their food. Americans are fast-food junkies and are more than happy to not cook their own meals. I have noticed when I was growing up we had no choice but to get out of the house and run and play! Please understand that kids don't need diets...
What they need is an adequate consumption of fruit and vegetables with exercise. With this video age where kids spend hours in front of the TV and the computer they have no time to burn off the junk that they ate. If you don't believe me look ate the pictures of the kids who weigh as much as adults! Perhaps if we provide these students with healthier foods and physical activity daily they will have a better opportunity to look like these kids that are running and playing.
