FORT PIERCE — A local woman told police a man in a lime green traffic vest bit her daughter in the elbow before snatching their car keys and driving off in her Mercury Mountaineer, according to a police report released Wednesday.
The 45-year-old mother told police Tuesday that the man — who lives with her and her daughter — asked for the keys so he could get to work. She denied the request because the 31-year-old man has warrants out for his arrest and has no driver's license.
The mother and her 22-year-old daughter went outside to get some things from the vehicle and the daughter opened the passenger door. The suspect had followed them out and demanded the keys from the mother before he "went after" the daughter, who had the keys in her hand.
The suspect allegedly bit the daughter during a struggle and got the keys before driving off with the passenger door open. The daughter gave the same account as her mother. more
